On Thursday 24th October we will have our very first Blanford Mere SHARED values afternoon.

This afternoon is dedicated to having fun, acknowledging and recognising pupils’ achievements, making memories and celebrating and rewarding all children for being part of a fantastic half term.

Throughout the afternoon all children will take part in an activity. Activities on offer include singing, music, dancing, gym, football, a variety of games, arts, crafts, baking, coding, photography and even gardening! Children have been able to tell us which activities they would like to take part in. These activities provide children with meaningful, memorable and exciting experiences and give them opportunities to try new and varied things that may not strictly fit into the curriculum, but that develop character, resilience and motivation, and encourage them to pursue wider goals.

At the end of the afternoon, all children will attend a whole school assembly where we will celebrate and reflect on the half term together. The assembly will also include celebrating our VIPs (Value Inspiring Pupils). One child per class will be nominated each half term to receive the VIP award. This will be a child who has consistently demonstrated our school values, a child who has gone ‘over and above’ expectations of behaviour and a child who is an aspirational role model who should inspire their peers. Parents/carers (2 max) of the VIPs will be invited to attend the assembly but we would appreciate you not mentioning it to your child, so that they are both surprised at seeing you at the assembly and receiving the 'VIP' for the half term.

We hope the children are looking forward to commemorating this half term with this exciting and enjoyable afternoon!

Kind regards
