We will be finishing off another busy and exciting half term with our Blanford Mere SHARED values day. This will take place on Thursday 10th April.

This day gives both children and staff the opportunity to focus on well-being and to celebrate another successful half term together.

In the morning, all children will take part in an activity. Activities on offer this half term include Lego club, bracelet making, dancing, football, other sports, cooking, computing, a variety of games, arts, crafts, baking, fun science experiments, making music and even taking part in a Maths Olympics! Children will be able to tell us which activities they would like to take part in over the coming days.  Please note: Some children may express a strong preference for one activity, and it is not always possible to ensure every child gets their ‘first choice’ and this can lead to disappointment (which is obviously completely contrary to the whole ethos of the day!).  To avoid this, children will be required to select several activities they would be happy to take part in and we can then ensure that every child is offered the opportunity to experience one of the those selected.

During the day, children will also be taking part in well-being activities relating to the ‘Connect’ way to well-being.

To finish off the day and the half term, all children will attend a whole school assembly where we will celebrate and reflect together. The assembly will also include celebrating our VIPs (Value Inspiring Pupils). One child per class will be nominated each half term to receive the VIP award. This will be a child who has consistently demonstrated our school values, with the focus this half term on ‘ACHIEVEMENT’. Parents/carers of the VIPs will be invited to attend the assembly.

All children can wear their own clothes on this day as a further reward and acknowledgement of their hard work.  Please be mindful of the activities they will be doing on the day.  Children who have been allocated a sports activity will need to dress appropriately.  Similarly, if your child is doing a craft or cooking activity, you may wish to bear in mind that they may get a bit mucky!

We hope the children are looking forward to commemorating this half term with another exciting and enjoyable day.
