5/6 Swimming Lessons – Mobile Pool

2nd September to 26th September 2025

As part of our PE curriculum this year, swimming will be taught using an onsite mobile swimming pool. This exciting opportunity will enable our children to receive an intensive block of at least one week of daily swimming sessions which is proven to significantly improve their swimming ability compared to traditional weekly lessons. We aim for all children to fulfil the government expectations of all children being able to swim at least 25 meters unaided, use a range of strokes effectively, and perform self-rescue techniques in various water-based situations.

These swimming sessions will be run by a qualified swimming coach who will assess your child and then deliver a series of sessions that will support their development. There will also be catch up sessions after the initial week of lessons for children who need extra support to meet the government guidelines. You will be notified if extra sessions are required.

If your child can already swim 25m, they will still be required to take part and the coach will challenge them further in order to continue to develop their swimming ability.

Your child will need to bring a towel and a swimming costume/trunks/shorts in a labelled bag every day in the w/b 2nd September. To maximise the time in the pool, they can wear this underneath their uniform for quicker changing time if they wish. There are changing facilities provided within the mobile pool setup.
