Dear Parents / Carers,
On Friday 27th February, Year 5-6 will be visiting the Black Country Living Museum and The Dudley Canal and Tunnel Trust.
We will be spending the majority of the day outside. Children should wear their own warm clothes (they don’t need to wear school uniform), a waterproof coat and appropriate footwear. Gloves and a hat may be useful if it is a cold day. Children will need to bring a packed lunch and two re-sealable drinks bottles (not fizzy please) in a bag/rucksack that they are able to carry all day. We will be given a timeslot to eat our packed lunch (and chips if you have ordered them!) under cover. If you have ordered sandwiches from the kitchen, they will be given to your child before they leave.
There will be time for us to visit the BCLM shop, so children can bring some money for a souvenir if they want to. Children will need to be responsible for their own money: we recommend bringing no more than £10.
Children need to arrive at school at the normal time of 8.45am. The coach will leave school at 9.30am and will return at approximately 3.25pm. We will send a message if this time will be significantly different due to traffic. Extending the day slightly will allow the children time to complete the planned activities. Children will be dismissed from the Key Stage 2 gate as usual. Any children who are not attending the trip should attend school as normal.
Thank you for your support.
Yours sincerely,
The Year 5/6 Team
