We are pleased to tell you that we have arranged an exciting trip for our Year 2 children during the summer term. This trip will link into our topic of ‘Animals, Including Humans’ and ‘Living Things and their Habitats’ in Science, as well as our Geography topic ‘Around the world in 80 days’.

On Thursday 12th June, we have arranged to visit West Midlands Safari Park. The coach will leave school promptly at 9.00am and return at around 3.00pm in time for the end of the school day. During the visit, the children will get a chance to have a guided tour around the Safari with an experienced ranger to see animals from around the world and be included in an educational workshop that will take place in their Education Centre.

All of Year 2 are entitled to a free school meal; they will be provided with a grab bag for lunch. Alternatively, you may wish to provide your child with a packed lunch from home. Can you please complete the form indicating whether your child will like a grab bag for lunch. There will be a choice of ham, cheese or tuna. However, should you wish to provide you own lunch, please state this also on the letter. Children will need to bring a small rucksack to carry their lunch and may bring 2 resealable drinks (please no fizzy pop or glass bottles). Children will need to come to school dressed in their school uniform. Dependent upon the weather, children will need to make sure that they apply sun cream first thing in the morning and ensure they have enough to drink.

We are asking for a payment of £27.91 for the visit, this will include entrance to the Safari Park, the guided tour, an educational workshop, coach travel and insurance. Please note that if insufficient payments are made, the event will not be able to go ahead. Please make payment online via School Money, on the school website.
