Article 29

Education must develop every child’s personality, talents and abilities to the full. It must encourage the child’s respect for human rights, as well as respect for their parents, their own and other cultures, and the environment.

Wow, what a busy and brilliant eight weeks we’ve had! It’s amazing to think how much we’ve packed into just half a term. The children have been full of enthusiasm, taking part in class assemblies, competitions, parent workshop and visits from the local community.

Our Macmillan Coffee Morning was a wonderful success, thank you to everyone who joined us for coffee, cake, and conversation. It was also fantastic to see so many of you at our Yr 2 parent workshop yesterday; your support makes such a difference.

As we head into the next half-term, we’ll be continuing to focus on our behaviour expectations and what it means to be ready to learn every day: kindness, respect, and a positive attitude go a long way in helping everyone do their best.

It’s been a fantastic start to the year. We’re so proud of the children’s hard work and can’t wait to see what the next half-term brings!

Congratulations!

Macmillan Coffee Morning

Thank you! We had a fantastic response to our Macmillan Coffee Morning on Friday 26th September - raising a £802.02! Thank you to all those who made this possible—to those parents who donated so many cakes and to everyone who supported by attending the coffee morning or cake sale.  We appreciated your support, and I know the money will be well used by Macmillan.  Thank you to Mr Baker and ‘singing club’ for providing the music and entertainment.

Y34's Trip to Blist's Hill, Ironbridge

On Friday, 26th September, Y34 enjoyed a fantastic experience that the children thoroughly enjoyed. From the moment we arrived, the historical setting brought the Victorian era to life. One of the first things the children noticed was the sulphur smell of the coal fires.

One of the main highlights for the children was the Victorian school experience, which was both fun and educational. They were a little worried about the strict rules and old-fashioned teaching methods, but everyone said it was the best part of the day.

The costumed staff made the day even more engaging by staying in character and answering lots of questions. Exploring the traditional shops and watching demonstrations of Victorian trades was also a big hit.

Overall, it was a memorable trip that brought our history topic to life in a fun and interactive way.

Well Done to our Wellbeing Poster winner 2025

Art Ambassadors

Thank you to all of the entrants for the role of Art Ambassador.

Many students were keen to take on the responsibility of the role - they wanted to share their creative talents, were willing to give up their own time for meetings and were eager for all children to enjoy art.

The new Art Ambassadors came to their first meeting bussing with ideas for the term ahead.

Class assemblies

Thank you to Mrs Cope 3/4MC and Mr Raybould and 5/6AR for holding our first-class assemblies this term.  The children performed and sang for parents and their families, and we know that many parents enjoyed the performance! Well done.

Black History Month - Artwork

As part of Black History Month, the children have gained a deeper understanding and appreciation of the work of Black artists and the cultural significance behind their art. They explored different styles, techniques, and powerful themes such as identity, resilience, and heritage. Inspired by what they learned, the children produced stunning artwork that reflects both creativity and thoughtful reflection. Their work has been a celebration of diversity and a testament to their growing awareness and artistic skill. Work produced will be collected and displayed in school.

Harvest Appeal – Black Country Foodbank
