Article 29

Education must develop every child’s personality, talents, and abilities to the full. It must encourage the child’s respect for human rights, as well as respect for their parents, their own and other cultures, and the environment.

Attendance Winners

May winners were Yr 5/6AR 97.74%.  Superb!

Well done!

Thank you to all of the children who took the time to prepare and audition for 'Blanford's Got Talent'. It was lovely to see so many of you get involved and showcase your talents, from singing and dancing to instrument playing, comedy sketches and magic tricks! There were over 70 auditions in total, and it was a very difficult decision, but the successful acts have now been told. The final will take place on the afternoon of Wednesday 3rd July for the staff and pupils to enjoy!

Sports Day – Thursday 6th June

The children, parents and staff had a wonderful sports day which lasted all day. The children had a day of events ranging from the track events to a round robin of activities, which kept them active all day!  The children showed true sportsmanship and competitiveness - trying to score as many house points as possible, to see which house will take this years trophy! Thank you to both the parents and staff for joining in with the races too – this again showed a lot of competitiveness! Well done Mr Raybould and Miss Postings for their organisation of the whole event!

There was a fantastic atmosphere with the music playing and the HSA did a fantastic job of organising and selling refreshments – they raised over £500! Wow! There was a lot of time, effort and preparation put into this by the HSA – thank you for your time. Thank you for supporting us on this.

Maths Championship Tuesday 18th June 2024

Well done on your child reaching the final of the regional Maths Championships - what an achievement!

Year 3/4 – Abel, Luke T, Thomas B, Eugene, Eesha, Arjun

Year 5/6 – Frankie, Mason, Leo T, Destiny, Freya S, Daniel L

As a treat for their hard work, the children can come to school on Friday 28th June, in their own clothes and will be given some extra golden time as a reward. Year 3-4 were one of the 12 finalists but unfortunately did not make the top 3 on the day.  Well done to Arjun for winning the ‘spot prize’, he won a £40 voucher for Coffee and Clay in Kinver.

After a very challenging competition that had increased in difficulty this year, Year 5-6 were able to achieve an excellent 2nd place and win some fantastic prizes including games, keyrings and stationery packs. There were 11 other schools that had made it through to the final.

Congratulations to both teams for representing our school so brilliantly! We are so proud of you all.

Thank you for your continued support,

Mr Baker

Helen Owens, the organiser of the event said:

Well done for being a finalist in both events and well done for coming second in Y5/6.

The pupils did a fantastic job and well done to the staff for helping get them to that standard. Hope they enjoyed their prizes.

 Thanks

Helen
