Back to School – September 2025
Dear Parents and Carers,
As we head into the summer break, we’d like to share some key information to help you and your child feel prepared for the start of the new school year on Tuesday 2nd September 2025.
We’re very much looking forward to welcoming everyone back and starting the year with positivity, purpose, and plenty of smiles!
Settling In – A Positive Start
Our first few days in September will focus on:
- Establishing daily routines
- Building strong relationships
- Helping children settle into their new classes and reconnect with friends
We know how important a calm and happy start is, and we’ll be doing everything we can to support your child.

Please take note of the updated start and end times from Tuesday 2nd September:

Drop-off & Pick-up Reminders
- Nursery & Reception: Please hand your child directly to the staff member at the door. This helps them feel safe and settled.
- Years 1–6: Drop-off is at the perimeter gates, where staff will be ready to welcome your child. KS1 & Years 3/4 gates open at 3:10pm. Please stand along the perimeter fence so staff can safely dismiss children to parents.
- Nursery children continue to enter via the Nursery entrance.
We kindly ask all families to avoid gathering near the gates to help ease congestion, especially by the park.

What to Bring on Day One
Please help your child start the year smoothly by following this checklist:
Full school uniform – Summer uniform is fine until October half-term.
No trainers or trainer-style shoes – black school shoes only.
Birthday clothes – Your child may wear their own clothes (school-appropriate) on their birthday.
Water bottles only, clearly labelled.
No pencil cases or personal stationery.
Bags:
- KS2: Drawstring bags preferred – space is limited.
- KS1/Reception: Only red schoolbook bags, please.
P.E. kit – Bring it on the first day as lessons begin straight away.
KS2 fruit snacks: One piece of fruit for breaktime (unless provided by school).
No snack bars, crisps, chocolate, or fruit bars.
No cash – All payments (e.g. lunches) must be made online.
Childcare & Clubs
Breakfast and After-School Clubs restart on Tuesday 2nd September.
If you still need a place, please contact Miss Edmonds (Breakfast Club) or Mrs Small (After-School Club) via the online form on our website. Places are limited and offered on a first come, first served basis.
Extra-Curricular Clubs starting in September include:
- Tennis (Years 2–5)
- Gymnastics Equipment (Years 1–2)
- Football (Years 3–4 & Years 5–6)
- Chess Club (KS2)
Families offered places will be contacted. More clubs will be available later in the year.
Curriculum & Wellbeing Focus
We’ll continue to offer a rich, balanced curriculum while placing extra focus on:
- Building friendships and social confidence
- Supporting children’s physical and emotional wellbeing
Teachers have received detailed handover information to ensure every child enjoys a smooth transition.
How You Can Help
We greatly appreciate your support in helping school run smoothly. Please:
- Supervise your child at entrances to avoid accidents or crowding.
- Only send the items listed above—nothing extra.
- Leave promptly after drop-off and pick-up.
- Make sure your child attends every day and arrives on time.
- If your child is absent, call the office by 9:05am on 01384 818365.
