Art Ambassadors

Thank you to all those who turned up to the meeting today, following the announcement in assembly.  We asked children who have an interest in art and no other role within school, if they would like to an Art Ambassador - if they were interested they turned up to Mrs Cope's room at lunchtime.

Names from each year group were selected randomly by the children from a 'hat'.

Our new Art Ambassadors are:

Year 3    Emily T
           Hugo M
Year 4    Lily MC
           Siyanna K
Year 5    Rayarn C
           Lucy R
Year 6    Lola DW
           Xavi S

One of their first jobs will be to judge the Art Competition - which will be sent out soon!

Well done,

Mrs Cope

Art Ambassadors are responsible students who are creative and passionate about art and design, who can make a valuable contribution to the art curriculum and opportunities in art offered here at Blanford Mere Primary School.

Duties include;

Our Arts’ Ambassadors will show commitment to their role, be good role models and give up their own time to carry out their duties. Their role is to promote the Art across the school. They will do this in a variety of ways, for example:

To be able to speak with passion about art.

To use their enthusiasm to guide others in their art making.

By helping to organise school-wide events such as Focus Days and running art competitions.

Helping out in practical ways such as, maintaining the art area in your classroom, making sure that it is clean and tidy making sure that fellow students clear up properly after art and wash their brushes thoroughly

Express opinions about art (including other pupil’s work|).

They may also seek out the views of other children in their class, through discussions and questionnaires, on how the arts provision in our school could be strengthened.

Their input will help to shape a varied and vivid art curriculum.
