On Friday 20th December, we will have our Blanford Mere SHARED values day.

This day is dedicated to having fun, acknowledging and recognising pupils’ achievements, focusing on children’s well-being, making memories and celebrating and rewarding all children for being part of a fantastic half term.

In the morning, all children will take part in an activity. Activities on offer include singing, music, dancing, gym, quizzes, puzzles, a variety of games, arts, crafts, baking and computing. Children will be able to tell us which activities they would like to take part in over the coming days. These activities provide children with meaningful, memorable and exciting experiences and give them opportunities to try new and varied things that may not strictly fit into the curriculum, but that can develop character, resilience and motivation, and encourage them to pursue wider goals.

During the day, children will also be taking part in well-being activities to help them to manage their feelings and to promote positive mental health. To further improve happiness, well-being, collaboration and to get us fully into the Christmas spirit, the children will be involved in an online Christmas concert lead by Dudley Performing Arts.

At the end of the afternoon, all children will attend a whole school assembly where we will celebrate and reflect on the half term together. The assembly will also include celebrating our VIPs (Value Inspiring Pupils). One child per class will be nominated each half term to receive the VIP award. This will be a child who has consistently demonstrated our school values, a child who has gone ‘over and above’ expectations of behaviour and a child who is an aspirational role model who should inspire their peers. Parents/carers of the VIPs will be invited to attend the assembly - please check your emails.

We hope the children are looking forward to commemorating this half term with this exciting and enjoyable day!
