Dear Parents/Carers,

Dudley Remembers Thursday 11th November 2021

As you are no doubt aware, this year marks the 100th anniversary of the Royal British Legion (RBL) and its Poppy Appeal.
The Royal British Legion was established to care for those who suffered as a result of service during the First World War, and, today, provides help and assistance to both serving and former-serving personnel.

This year, to celebrate the anniversary, we would like our children at Blanford Mere to take part in an Art Competition. We would like to showcase the talent of our children here at Blanford Mere and for them to understand the sacrifice our service has given in the past and continue to give to today. We would like the children to draw/create a Poppy on an A4 piece of card, they can be as creative as they like! The children can create using a wide range of media/materials. All entries will need to include your child's Name, Age, Class, and our School Name on the reverse of the entry. I will then choose the best 10 entries to be submitted to the board.

These will be judged by this year’s Mayor, Councillor Ann Millward, and then be included in this year’s Festival of Remembrance, to be held at the Main Hall of Dudley College. There will be prizes and awards for the best for top judged submissions.

I will need to submit the entries no later than Friday 22nd October 2021; therefore, Can I ask that all entries are to be brought in to school the week before, Friday 15th October if you would like your child to take part

Let's get creative!

Miss Jordan
