We do hope that you all had a relaxing and peaceful Christmas, despite the last-minute restrictions.
Following the press conference late yesterday afternoon from Boris Johnson, we felt that parents may appreciate a letter just to clarify the arrangements for Monday.
Although we have been moved into tier 4, Dudley is one of the boroughs where all primary schools are expected to open as usual. Therefore, unless the government makes a further announcement over the weekend at the last minute, we will be open for all the usual services that we provide - this includes Breakfast Club, Nursery and After School Club. Don't forget to use the School Grid portal to order your child's hot lunch.
All of our established procedures remain in place to increase everyone's safety. In school, there will continue to be regular handwashing/sanitising, staggered playtimes and social distancing wherever possible.
Can we ask parents to support us please by keeping to the allocated entrance/exit for your child(ren) as well as the staggered times, keeping a social distance and wearing masks when dropping off/collecting children. Please keep your children by your side at all times to avoid unnecessary mixing of children.
The measures above will be more important than ever as we strive to keep children, staff, and parents as safe as we can.
Most importantly of all, if your child or anyone in your household, shows any symptoms of Covid 19, please do not send them into school - arrange for a test and contact school for advice. You will be aware that numbers of new infections are rising rapidly and that there is a new strain of the virus circulating. The best way that we can safeguard everyone is by keeping the virus out of school.
We look forward to welcoming the children back into school on Monday 4th January 2021. On behalf of the staff, can we wish you 'Happy New Year' - as use of the new vaccines becomes more widespread, let's hope for better times ahead.
With best wishes,
Mrs Miller and Miss Stanton.
