Dear Parents and Carers,
Our school is pleased to be supporting a very special cause that has recently been shared across the news and social media. As part of our Wellbeing sessions to support Give, children will be making birthday cards in school for Amelia.
You may have heard of Amelia, who will be turning 8 on 3rd March. Amelia was diagnosed with neuroblastoma at just two and a half years old. Despite extensive treatment, the cancer has remained, and following the discovery of a further tumour, Amelia is now receiving palliative care at home.
One of Amelia’s birthday wishes is to break a record by receiving 8,000 birthday cards to help celebrate her special day.
We would love to support this by collecting birthday cards in school. Mrs Barnett will arrange a final collection date of Tuesday 24th February. We are also happy to act as a small hub for the local community should anyone wish to send in additional cards. Families are welcome to donate and write as many cards as they wish, including handmade cards from children.
A flyer with further details is attached. Please feel free to take part if you would like to support this lovely cause.
Thank you for your continued support.
Kind regards,
Miss Stanton and Mrs Crook
