Dear Parents and Carers,

On the last day (Friday 17th July), we are going to end the school day with our traditional arch, so that children from Reception to Year 5 can say farewell to our Year 6 leavers.
Because it will be VIP day, children will be wearing their own clothes. However, Year 6 can bring in their school T-shirts, shirts or PE shirts, for the other Year 6 children/teachers/parents to sign after school finishes at 3.15 p.m., not during the school day.  They will put their school t-shirts on at 3pm ready for the arch and the signing.

Any Year 6 parents who would like to see their children exit the arch need to arrive at the Year 5/6 gate from 3pm to 3.10pm, so that they can enter the KS2 playground before the children exit their classrooms. Parents will stand on the playground by the climbing wall, behind the line. The gates will be shut at 3.10pm for 5 minutes whilst the children walk through the arch. To ensure there is enough space on the playground, can Y3-4 parents please wait outside the gates until 3.15pm when we will reopen them to let our Y3,4 & 5 children out. To comply with GDPR and to adhere to our Mobile Phone and Camera Policy, we request that no photos are taken of the children on the school premises.

After the whole school have formed their ‘guard of honour archway’ (which will lead towards the KS2 gate) and the Year 6 children have walked through it, the plan is:

  • Year 6 will make their way to stand by the climbing wall so that they can sign t-shirts.
  • Year 5 will then leave through their usual gate at 3.15pm.
  • Years 3-4 will leave through their usual gate at 3.15pm.
  • Year 1 and Year 2 will go back into school and leave through their usual gate at 3.15pm.
  • Reception will go back into school and leave through their usual gate at 3.20pm.
Any siblings of Year 6 children will stay with their class teacher who will dismiss their class and then hand them over to Year 6 parents in the KS2 playground.
If you have any questions, please come and ask.

Thank you for your continued support.
