Class Organisation 2026 -2027

Dear Parents and Carers,

This year, we are making a slight change to how we share information about classes and staffing for the next academic year. To provide clarity, we are letting you know both the teachers in each year group and your child's class teacher for September 2026.

This evening, your child will bring home a sticker in their planner informing you of their class teacher for September 2026. Please take a few moments to look at this together.

Please note that school reports will be presented in a new format this year and will be emailed to parents and carers on Thursday 2nd July. If you would prefer a paper copy, please contact the school office after this date.

A reminder that Year 6 SATs results will be shared with parents and carers on Tuesday 7th July once they have been released.

Each year, we carefully organise our classes to support the learning and progress of all children. As our admission number is 45 pupils per year group, some classes include children from two-year groups. Our class organisation for next year follows a similar structure to this year, which has supported children in making strong progress.

Please be assured that our curriculum is carefully planned to ensure all children receive high-quality teaching and learning opportunities, whether they are in a single-age or mixed-age class.

Staffing News

As we prepare for another exciting school year, I would like to share some staffing news with you.

• Firstly, we are delighted to congratulate Mr Baker and Mr Kimberley on their new leadership roles from September. Mr Baker will take on the role of Assistant Headteacher for Curriculum and Lead for Key Stage 2, while Mr Kimberley will become Assistant Headteacher for Teaching and Learning, leading EYFS and Key Stage 1. Both have shown tremendous commitment to our pupils, staff and wider school community, and these appointments are thoroughly deserved. I know they will continue to make a significant contribution to the success of our school, and I am excited to see them flourish in their new roles.
• We are also very pleased to welcome Miss Hill, Mr Fereday and Mrs Waldron to the Blanford Mere family. They each bring valuable experience and enthusiasm, and I know they will quickly become an important part of our school community.
• In addition, we are delighted to welcome back Miss Porter following her maternity leave. We know many children and families will be pleased to see her return.
• A huge congratulations to Miss Davies, who will be getting married at the end of July. We are delighted for her and wish her and her husband-to-be every happiness for the future. When she returns in September, she will be known as Mrs Homer. Congratulations and best wishes from everyone at Blanford Mere!

At the end of this term, we will also be saying goodbye to three valued members of staff.

• Miss Cleeton will be leaving Blanford Mere after eight years of dedicated service. Throughout her time with us, she has made a lasting impact on the children she has taught and supported and has been a much-valued colleague and friend. We are incredibly grateful for everything she has contributed to our school and wish her every happiness and success as she begins this new chapter. She will be greatly missed.
• We will also be saying farewell to Mrs Dorricott, who is pursuing her ambition to train and work as a midwife. While we will be sorry to see her leave, we are immensely proud of her and excited for the opportunities that lie ahead. We thank her for her commitment to our school and wish her every success in her new career.
• We also say goodbye to Miss Bullock, who has taken up a new position in Darlaston. We wish her every success in her new role and future career.

I know you will join me in congratulating those taking on new roles, welcoming new members of staff and wishing Miss Cleeton, Mrs Dorricott and Miss Bullock all the very best for the future.
