You have the right to the best health care possible, safe water to drink, nutritious food, a clean and safe environment, and information to help you stay well.
As a group of Dudley schools we offer some pupils the opportunity to be involved in a Masterclass, this is based on children's area of expertise!
The following classes have already been attended:
The children had an enjoyable afternoon at the Dingle Primary School- they produced a huge 'under the sea' painting and drew pictures using shapes and lines.

Lily C "I enjoyed pottery because it was a new experience and has inspired me to do more!".

Thomas P "I enjoyed making and painting the pots".
Sports day 2018
As you are well aware, the great British weather let us down for our planned Sports Day with parents on 8th June. However, the weather was bright and dry on Friday 15th June, so we took advantage and the children had a fantastic sports day. In the morning, the track events were a great success and all children managed to take part in their race and represented their class well.
Throughout the afternoon, the 'round robin of point scoring activities' ran smoothly and encouraged the children to keep active, show good sportsmanship and score as many points as possible! The winning teams were Yr 1W for KS1 phase and Year 5/6B for Key Stage 2! Well done! The winning classes have a trophy displayed in their classroom for the rest of this year.

Times Tables Rock Wrangle 2018 (Birmingham Event at Ounsdale School, Wombourne)
As you may already know, some of the students have been taking part in Times Tables Rock Stars in their maths lessons, to help improve their accuracy and speed at times tables. Our three fastest and most accurate rock stars have been selected to take part in a national times tables event. Congratulations to Cara C, Katie H and Niamh G from Year 6 who have worked incredibly hard to improve their speed and will be representing our school at the competition.
The Times Tables Rock Wrangle is a competition for year 6s and 7s from 50 schools who have been taking part in Times Tables Rock Stars. After a series of heats, quarter-finals and semi-finals, 150 contestants will be whittled down to 4, who will compete in a grand finale in front of an audience of 200 people!
The winning student and their school team and their teacher will enjoy a helicopter ride over the local area.
Maths - Lunchtime Club.
Mr Baker has been providing an opportunity for children from Reception - Year 6 to join a lunchtime Maths Activity & Games Club. It is an informal club where children can play mathematical games and encourage their enjoyment of maths.
This is what Rec/Year 1 thought:
Aurora: "When you got the right answer the mouse lit up and it was very fun."
Jaiya: "The measuring with counters was my favourite. I enjoyed it".
Transition Days Tuesday 3rd and Wednesday 4th July 2018
The majority of our Year 6 pupils will be spending the days at their new secondary schools and our new reception class will be having their 'taster' days.
All children from nursery to year 5 will be spending the 2 days in their new classes for the next academic year. Where possible, children will spend some time with their new teacher, and will be shown where to line up beforehand.
Reception class- arrangements were discussed at the transition meeting. Children should arrive at school and be collected from the KS1 gate - please let them walk across the playground on their own!
Year 1-all arrangements as usual; the children will just be in a different class with their new teachers.
Year 2-all current year 2 children need to line up in the KS2 playground via the KS2 gate in the mornings and will be dismissed from there at the end of both days. If they wish to have tuck, they will need to bring either a piece of fruit from home and a drink (water only) or money to spend at the tuck shop. (Toast-25p, Crumpets-28p)
Year 3-5-all arrangements as usual-just different classes and teachers.
Year 6 children not attending transition days need to come to school as normal.
Arrangements for Parents' Evenings July 2018:
We are holding our Parents' Evening on Thursday 5th July
o Reports will be sent out at the end of the day on Friday 29th June 2018.If your child is absent or on holiday - you can collect reports on your return from the school office. please do not ring the school office to find out who your child's' teacher is next year, as the envelopes are sealed and the information is in your pack.
o Each report will be in a sealed envelope in your child's bag. Details of class organisation and your child's new teacher will also be included. Receiving the report well before parents' evening should give you time to read it thoroughly and decide whether or not you would like to see your child's teacher.
o There will be slip attached for you to complete. This enables us to know that you have received the report and asks you to indicate if you would like an appointment to meet your child's teacher. Please return these on Monday 2nd July, so that members of staff can allocate enough opportunities for those parents who would like to see them. The class teacher will allocate times from 3.20pm until 4pm, for parents who would like to see them, regarding their child's report.
o All teachers will write your appointment time in your child's planner on Monday 2nd July. If the allocated time is inconvenient, then write a note to the class teacher in your child's planner, so that they can allocate another slot.
o Staff will only allocate enough appointment times for these people.
o Staff may also ask to see you to discuss certain elements of your child's report. If so, there will be a note with your child's report and an allocated time for you to see the teacher. If this is not convenient, please arrange an alternative time with your child's teacher.
o For this Parents' evening, YOU WILL be allocated a time slot, rather than signing up in the usual way. Please be aware that appointments allow a maximum of 10 minutes for each set of parents. If you need additional discussion time, you may need to make a further appointment on another day as we do try our best to ensure minimum waiting times for parents. If you have not indicated that you would like to see your child's teacher by Monday 2nd July-then an appointment time will not be allocated. Please return the slip requesting to see your child's teacher. Staff will only allocate enough appointment times for these people. Please ensure you bring your child's report and clearly identify the elements of this you wish to discuss.
o There will be NO books for you to browse over, as the children's books will be sent home at the end of term for you to look at over the holidays.
o To help keep the school secure, would you please enter and exit by the main entrance doors. We would appreciate your help and co-operation with this to ensure the safety of your children.
o Mrs. Miller will be available in the hall as usual if you need to speak to her personally about your son or daughter.
'Easy Peasy' App for Nursery, Reception, Yr 1 and Yr 2 parents
There has been a National study of the impact of a new app called 'Easy Peasy'. The app sends weekly video clips to parents' mobile phones giving child development advice and ideas for games. It has been used by 302 families in the 'pilot scheme' in London. The three-month long study found that the app had positive impact on the concentration levels, resilience and the decision-making skills of two-to-five-year-olds. The parents also said that they managed their children's behaviour better as a result of the advice given. So why not give it a try, download it to your mobile phone!
