Parking around the school site

Parking around schools is often a contentious issue for local residents and Blanford Mere is no exception. We have raised this issue regularly and asked for your support.  Please park with consideration to our local residents – not blocking drives or parking in a way that endangers the safety of children and their families.

Yesterday, we have had another complaint from a resident on Cherry Tree Road. Parents are blocking driveways and not being considerate of residents.  Parents are also parked in the turning circle at the top of the road causing huge amounts of congestion as vehicles cannot manoeuvre easily to leave the area. We understand that parking is restricted around the area, but we also want to keep a good relationship with the local community.

Can parents please be considerate of our neighbours and the local community by not parking across driveways or turning around on residents’ driveways. Residents have already informed the police and sent photographic evidence – this may be followed up by the police and fines issued.

Please remember that we have asked parents not to park on Mimosa Walk at all please (the entrance or cul de sac outside the main entrance to the school.)  It is very difficult for staff to enter and leave the car park both in the morning and after school when parents park outside the main entrance.

Thank you for help and co-operation
