Blanford Mere Primary School Year 1 to 6 Final Reminders Christmas Arrangements

Church Performances Wednesday 12.12.18

Children will be singing at church on Wednesday 12th December @ 9.30am and 1.30pm. There will be no tuck on 12.12.18. Please send children to school at the usual time in their winter uniform. If your child is attending either Vortex Howler or After school club then they should return to school after the service.

At the end of the service there will be a collection. We intend to make a donation to St Mary’s Church and the remainder of the collection go a local charity ‘4Louis’. 4Louis are a charity that support parents and families who have suffered the devastating loss of a ‘sleeping baby’. The money raised will contribute to providing ‘cuddle cots’ for hospitals in the West Midlands area. For more information

Christmas Breakfast Friday 14.12.18

Friday 14th December is Christmas Breakfast. Please note that there will be no tuck sold on this day.

We have had an overwhelming response this year to the Christmas breakfast - we will be trying to serve over 450 people, within 2 hours - in 30 minute allocated slots! We really need your help, in the following ways:

1) Arrive at the correct time with your allocated ticket:

8.45 - 9.15 a.m. - Pink

9.20 - 9.50 a.m. - Pale Blue.

9.55 - 10.25 a.m. - Gold

10.30 - 11.00 – a.m. Bright Blue

Please wait at the main entrance in the foyer. Your child will be sent to the hall at their allocated time to meet you, unless you have the very first slot (pink) - then take your child straight to the main foyer, without them going into class first.

2) Wait in the queue, hand your ticket to the serving hatch, who will then pass you your food. Continue around to get a drink, take a seat, enjoy your breakfast and listen to the music. When the bell rings at the end of the session - please say goodbye, send your child back to class and leave by the door at the back of the hall, to avoid congestion.

Raffle tickets will be on sale at £1 per strip. We have a children's raffle and an adults' raffle. Both raffles will be drawn in assembly in the last week of term.

We will do our very best to ensure you are served as swiftly as possible. This is an enjoyable festive event, so we thank you in advance for your patience. Happy Christmas everyone!!

Yr 2 Trip to The Wyre Forest - Monday 17.12.18

A packed lunch will be required for this day. School will provide this or child can bring their own. We will be spending the majority of the day outside and therefore suitable clothing is a must. Children will not be required to wear school uniform on this day, due to the nature of the visit. Please ensure your child has a warm, waterproof coat with a hood, suitable footwear, with non-slip soles and no heels. Trousers are also recommended because of the brambles in the forest. A hat, scarf and gloves are also essential.

Behaviour Reward Wednesday 19.12.18

On the afternoon of Wednesday 19th December, the children who have worked hard this term and followed the class charters will be rewarded with an afternoon of classroom games—children can bring in games to play, including DS, Nintendos, portable electronic games consoles etc. Please ensure that the games are age appropriate (NO IPADS, TABLETS, XBOX, PLAYSTATION, LAPTOPS or PHONES please). We will not allow children to use any games that have camera access. Please remember staff will look after the game until the afternoon – when children are then responsible for taking care of their own items. If it is an extremely valuable item please do not send it into school, as we are not insured for damage or loss. Please ensure that ALL items are clearly labelled with your child’s name. Children who have lost a total of 25 minutes golden time (parents and child will have been informed of this prior to the day) will be working with Miss Stanton for the afternoon.
