Dear Parents/carers,

All children have been affected by changes to school life due to the Coronavirus. None more so than our Year 6 pupils. This time of year is usually full of SATs test relief, excitement, anticipation, new beginnings and closure. It is a time for saying goodbye and for growing up by moving on to 'Big school'.

These children would usually have been busy with a leavers’ production, leavers’ books, induction days, and visit to Woodfield House etc. – all to mark the end of their time at primary school.

We are really keen to ensure that our children have the opportunity to say goodbye to Blanford Mere, so we have decided to have a 'socially distanced' leavers’ gathering for Year 6 on Friday 17th July 2020.

To make this possible, school will be closing for all children including Key worker children at 1.00pm on Friday 17th July 2020.  Please collect your child, whilst observing social distancing from the bubbles' usual gates.

We hope that you understand the reason for this decision.  At Blanford Mere, we understand how important ‘transitions’ are for children.  We feel that year 6 deserve the recognition for the contribution that they have made to Blanford Mere and an opportunity to mark the end of their time with us.

Thank you for your continued support.  We are trying our best for your children.

Best wishes

Miss Stanton and Mrs Miller
