Article 2

All children have these rights, no matter who they are, where they live, what their parents do, what language they speak, what their religion is, whether they are a boy or a girl, what their culture is, whether they have a disability, whether they are rich or poor. No child should be treated unfairly on any basis.

Headteacher’s Christmas Message

As we head into the Christmas break, I would like to wish you, your friends and family a safe, happy and healthy Christmas.

I have been overwhelmed as a new Headteacher at the school community and our joint efforts in enjoying such a positive and productive term. This only happens because we are able to work together as a partnership of parents, children and staff. There has been much to celebrate over the past few weeks – with a packed festive schedule in the run up to Christmas!

I would like to say a particular thank you to out exceptional team of staff who have worked tirelessly to ensure that the children have had an exciting and purposeful term of learning.

Thank you for your support this year, have a wonderful Christmas and we look forward to the return to school in January 2023!

Well Done!

Many of you will have joined us at St. Mary’s Church last week for our Christmas Celebration. We do hope that you enjoyed the children’s singing just as much as we did! I would like to congratulate the children on their performances—they were great! The donations that you made were greatly appreciated.  We raised a total of £248.15.  We donated £50 to St Mary’s Church and the remainder went to support activities for the children in school.

Reception and Nursery Christmas Craft.

Last week, the Nursery and Reception Children enjoyed dressing up in their wonderful Christmas costumes for their Christmas Craft activity session – there was a wonderful atmosphere and the children and Parents, really enjoyed the activities.

Reception Activities this month!

1st December

In Reception, we walked to our local post box to deliver our letters to Santa! We discussed road safety and stranger danger on our way there. Once we arrived at the post box, we sprinkled some magic glitter and made a special wish before posting our letters.

Isla - 'I loved sprinkling the glitter over the post box.'

6th December

We walked to Arise Church where the children took part in festive activities and learnt about the Christmas Story. Our favourite part was performing Christmas songs with musical instruments on the big stage!

Carter - 'I loved playing the instruments. It was fun!'

8th December

We held our first Christmas workshop with parents since Covid! The children and parents had a wonderful time taking part in a range of festive activities. We were so proud of all the children for their beautiful singing and looking amazing in their festive outfits. We hope all of the parents enjoyed the afternoon. Thanks for all your support this half term!

15th December

The children had a fantastic morning visiting Santa in his magical Grotto! He wished them all a Merry Christmas and they all received a gift from him.

We wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Reception Team

Year 5/6 DT

Year 5/6 have been designing and making teddy bears for evacuees from World War II.  They have showed resilience and perseverance with the sewing skills required and everyone did their best to make progress and develop their skills.

Fred: "I found it really fun. It was tricky to start but when I got used to doing blanket stitch it got easier and easier.  I like my teddy bear."

Lily: "I enjoyed the sewing part because I have done blanket stitch. I was able to help other people to finish their teddies."

Thank you for all the donations of old clothes and materials for the children to use to create their authentic 'make do and mend' teddy bears.
