Blanford Mere Primary School Year 1 to 6 Final Reminders Christmas Arrangements

Church Performances Wednesday 11.12.19

Children will be singing at church on Wednesday 11th December @ 9.30am and 1.30pm.  There will be no tuck on 11.12.19.  Please send children to school at the usual time in their winter uniform.  If your child is attending either KS2 Dodgeball or After school club then they should return to school after the service.

At the end of the service there will be a collection.  We intend to make a donation to St Mary’s Church and the remainder of the collection go to Mary Steven’s Hospice, Stourbridge.

Mary Stevens Hospice - Taking care of families since 1991.   They offer patients with incurable or life-limiting illnesses the opportunity to enjoy their lives to the fullest, however long that life may be.

DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD WITH THEIR BAGS OR PLANNERS TODAY ON THIS DAY PLEASE – they will not be needed.  It may also be helpful to send your child with disposable packed lunch items, as they may be going home with you straight from the church and Thursday is a Polling day. This would mean that their lunch bags will  be here in school until Friday.

Christmas Breakfast Friday 13.12.19

Friday 13th December is Christmas Breakfast. Please note that there will be no tuck sold on this day.

We have had an overwhelming response this year to the Christmas breakfast - we will be trying to serve over 400 people, within 2 hours - in 30 minute allocated slots! We really need your help, in the following ways:

1) Arrive at the correct time with your allocated ticket:

8.45 - 9.15 a.m. – yellow

9.20 - 9.50 a.m. - blue

9.55 - 10.25 a.m. - pink

10.30 - 11.00 – a.m. white

Please wait at the main entrance in the foyer. Your child will be sent to the hall at their allocated time to meet you, unless you have the very first slot (yellow) - then take your child straight to the main foyer, without them going into class first.

2) Wait in the queue, hand your ticket to the serving hatch, who will then pass you your food. Continue around to get a drink, take a seat, enjoy your breakfast and listen to the music. When the bell rings at the end of the session - please say goodbye, send your child back to class and leave by the door at the back of the hall, to avoid congestion.

Raffle tickets will be on sale at £1 per strip. We have a children's raffle and an adults' raffle. Both raffles will be drawn in assembly in the last week of term.

We will do our very best to ensure you are served as swiftly as possible. This is an enjoyable festive event, so we thank you in advance for your patience. Happy Christmas everyone!

Christmas Lunch - Tuesday 17.12.19

If you have pre-ordered a Christmas Lunch for your child they will be provided with a festive lunch.  Remember there is no alternative this day – if you have not pre-ordered a lunch, please send your child with a packed lunch.

Behaviour Reward Monday 16.12.19

On the afternoon of Monday 16th December, the children who have worked hard this term and followed the class charters will be rewarded with an afternoon of classroom games—children can bring in games to play, including DS, Nintendos, any portable electronic games consoles etc. Children must not use any cameras on their consoles.  If children are caught doing this during the afternoon, they will have their device removed. This is for GDPR and safeguarding reasons. Please ensure that the games are age appropriate (NO IPADS, TABLETS, XBOX, PLAYSTATION, LAPTOPS or PHONES please). We will not allow children to use any games that have camera access.  Please remember staff will look after the game until the afternoon – when children are then responsible for taking care of their own items.  If it is an extremely valuable item please do not send it into school, as we are not insured for damage or loss.  Please ensure that ALL items are clearly labelled with your child’s name. Children who have lost a total of 25 minutes golden time (parents and child will have been informed of this prior to the day) will be working with Miss Stanton for the afternoon.

Santa's Grotto - Wednesday 18.12.19
